HDPE PIPE for Nuclear Plant

Corrosion and erosion of seawater systems is a common problem in coastal nuclear power plants. There are certain problems with the traditional pipes used in domestic seawater systems, which affect the safety and reliability of the system. High-density polyethylene (HDPE) pipe has good resistance to seawater corrosion, sediment erosion and aging. It has low flow resistance and good toughness, so it has developed rapidly in Europe and the United States and has been used in nuclear safety level 3 systems. In 2015, our company embarked on the localization research and development of large-diameter, high-wall-thickness HDPE pipes for AP1000 and AP1400 plant water systems and bridged the gap in China. In September 2017, we passed the appraisal of scientific and technological achievements of China Nuclear Energy Industry Association.
